About Me
In our breastfeeding journey, I hit nearly every booby trap possible - unplanned C-section, formula pushed in the hospital, failure to gain weight, latch issues, returning to work when Gabe was 3 months, and the list goes on. I was fortunate enough to have the most supportive husband, family and friends, whom all helped me achieve my goal of breastfeeding for at least one year. Until I had a child I never fully understood the old adage, 'it takes a village to raise child' but now I do.
I'm raising money for Best for Babes so that the organization can continue to support breastfeeding woman through its non-judgmental and informative advocacy activities. I had the pleasure of meeting a few women working with Best for Babes at a Nurse-in at the Georgia State Capitol Lawn in March and was impressed. I looked into the organization then and found this lovely fundraising opportunity, yet I was barely back to running then.
Fast-forward a few weeks. With the help of a highly discounted race fee and some great friends, I registered for the Savannah Rock and Roll 1/2 Marathon on November 3, also known as my Bitch is Back race. I've been killing it on my training runs and am hopeful for a PR.
