Holiday Style Guide for Breastfeeding Babes

If you’re looking for the perfect outfit for the holidays, for yourself or for an expecting or new mom, look no further . . . we’ve pulled together our list of hot holiday picks to celebrate the season with style, because breastfeeding babes deserve to feel fabulous!  Everything is under $100, which is a lot cheaper than those designer maternity jeans you only wore for 6 months-chances are these staples will be a mainstay in your closet for years.  Cheers, and let your cups overfloweth!

The Randa from Milkstars.com

This gorgeous dress from Milkstars.com proves that you don’t have to sacrifice style when breastfeeding . . . in fact it could help inspire more moms to nurse longer!   It’s the perfect LBD (little black dress) for holiday events, transitions seamlessly for the busy work-to-party circuit, and is chic and polished for family gatherings.   Openings are hidden inside and under the cowl, so it doesn’t look like a nursing dress.   It’s in a comfy jersey knit  and the shirring is flattering post-baby. All you need is a pair of spanx and a chunky necklace.   I’d wear it with peep-toe heels or black patent boots, and quite frankly, I’d wear it long after my nursing days are over.    $85 Enter code BFBDECEMBER (all one word, all caps) to get 10% off their entire order at Milkstars, and they will also donate $5 to Best for Babes for every order that uses the code in December!

Copacabana Nursing Bra & Boyshort by Belabumbum

What better thing to wear under your LBD than this hot little number?  We love the stretchy, comfy lace, the well-designed snaps for easy nursing access, and of course . . . the light rhubarb color which hearkens to our signature Best for Babes logo.  The cups are lined in soft cotton, the straps are adjustable, and you are guaranteed to feel fabulous!   Go ahead and indulge yourself, or gift a girlfriend who needs a boost to her mama mojo . . . even under sweats she’ll know that she is a breastfeeding goddess.  $39  Enter  code BfBHoliday at check out and receive a 35% discount!

L'arrivo Madison nursing camisole

Entertaining at home during the holidays? Imagine this luxe Madison camisole in chocolate feather from L’Arrivo with black velvet wide-legged pants, strappy gold heels and a gossamer cashmere sweater. Made from breathable fabric with 4 way stretch, the patented NurtureBra Support System gives firm support without constriction. The built in nursing bra is easy to open with its clever hidden snap closure. It is trimmed with crinkle-cut organza ribbon and a curly lettuce hem. Sleek spaghetti straps adjust for comfort. I can’t imagine anything more comfy when slipping away to nurse the baby. $59

Pumpease Tuxedo Hands-Free Supports

A pretty set of lingerie can make you feel fabulous, and a hands-free pumping support that rocks the tuxedo look can do the same.  If you are a pumping babe, why not coordinate your hands-free pumping supports to your outfit and your lingerie?   This is my favorite PumpEase bra and one of their best-sellers.  It is guaranteed to work with all pumps!   Write out your holiday cards, decorate cookies, finish that proposal for work, text, talk on the phone, use your computer or tend to your baby ALL while pumping! $38.99 CAD   Use coupon code BFBSAVE20 to save 20% at PumpEase.com!

The Crossover Shirt from Hadley Stilwell

Hadley Stilwell’s suits are designed to go from the boardroom to the pumping lounge, and are great for after work holiday parties.  This crossover shirt in cranberry is festive for the season and looks great paired with pants or a skirt and jacket.   I like the way she adds a sparkly belt, but a pearl choker or nursing necklace would look cute too.   If you want to go outrageous wear it with a black leather motorcycle jacket.  $64

Flynn top by Annee Matthew

I like this top from Annee Matthew at A Mother’s Boutique because it can go casual or dressy with the right accessories.   It also comes in white which would look beautiful in an all-winter-white ensemble-I’d pair it with white or light beige wool slacks, strappy heels and lots of bracelets.  It’s got a forgiving cut for those unforgiving first weeks post-partum and the fabric is stretchy and comfortable.  Access is through the center pleat. $69

La Leche League strapless bra

Believe it or not, we’ve heard that one of the hardest to find items is a strapless nursing bra.   La Leche League makes one of the only ones, and this one can also be found at Motherwear.com.  This seamless pull over tube with an inside frame for nursing fits the bill for those sexy New Year’s eve strapless evening gowns.   So if you’re bringing your babe to a wedding, you can still wear your favorite strapless dress without worrying about underwires smushing your milk ducts.  This bra also comes with removable clear straps and removable pads. $26

Love that first one! I recently needed to find a nice dress for a wedding… and I’m pregnant AND breastfeeding. Finding a nice dress for either is hard, combining them turns it into an epic quest! Finally I found a jersey knit dress with a faux wrap bodice in a dark purple… combined with a drapey, dressy sweater (the tails were perfect for draping over myself when I nursed), it worked great! Doesn’t look like they still have the exact one I bought, but it was very similar to this one: http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=98085010022&MasterCategory_Id=MC3
